Shimla: Temperatures continued to stay above normal across the high, mid, and low hills of Himachal Pradesh on Thursday, with Una recording the highest maximum temperature at 40 degrees Celsius, according to the Meteorological Centre in Shimla.

Temperature Readings Across the State

Several towns witnessed significant deviations from normal temperatures. Kangra recorded a maximum of 36.4 degrees Celsius, which is 7.2 degrees above normal. Sundernagar saw 35.8 degrees Celsius (4.2 degrees above normal), while Mandi registered 35 degrees Celsius (2.8 degrees above normal). Nahan reached 34.9 degrees Celsius (2.4 degrees above normal), Bhuntar touched 33.4 degrees Celsius (5.2 degrees above normal), and Solan recorded 33 degrees Celsius (3.2 degrees above normal).

Tourist Destinations Also Affected

Among popular tourist destinations, Dharamshala was the warmest with a maximum of 33 degrees Celsius, which is 5.1 degrees above normal. The state capital Shimla recorded 27.2 degrees Celsius (4.7 degrees above normal), while Manali registered 26.8 degrees Celsius (4.3 degrees above normal).

Weather Forecast: Rain and Thunderstorms Expected

The weather department has predicted light rain, snow, and thunderstorms in parts of the high, mid, and low hills from April 24 to 29. Residents and tourists are advised to stay updated on the changing weather conditions.
