The temperature was just 0.2 degrees above the six-year record of 18.4 degrees Celsius registered on June 4, 2020.

The departure of Nautapa, traditionally associated with intense summer heat across central India, came with an unexpected spell of cool weather this year. According to the Meteorological Department, rainfall and gusty winds between the evening and late-night hours brought a dramatic change in weather conditions across the city.

The weather observatory at the airport recorded 0.4 inches of rain, while the maximum temperature settled at 38.5 degrees Celsius. More notably, the night temperature was recorded seven degrees below the seasonal normal, giving residents a rare feeling of coolness during a month usually marked by scorching heat.
Several parts of the city experienced dust storms followed by rain. Wind speeds touched 81 kilometers per hour during the weather activity, providing significant relief from the heat and humidity that had prevailed during the day. The rain also improved overall weather conditions, making outdoor temperatures more comfortable.
