The Haryana Police have successfully dismantled an interstate criminal gang operating in the Palwal district, leading to the arrest of four individuals. The gang was allegedly involved in a series of thefts and robberies across multiple states, including Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan.
Details of the Operation
According to police officials, the arrests were made during a coordinated operation based on specific intelligence inputs. The accused were identified as Ravi Kumar, a resident of Palwal; Suresh Singh from Mathura; and two others from Alwar, Rajasthan. The police recovered a significant cache of stolen goods, including jewelry, electronic items, and cash, along with weapons used in the crimes.
Modus Operandi
The gang primarily targeted isolated houses and commercial establishments during late-night hours. They used sophisticated tools to break into properties and often changed their vehicles to avoid detection. Preliminary investigations suggest that the gang has been active for over a year, with at least 12 cases registered against them in different jurisdictions.
Legal Proceedings
The arrested individuals have been booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including theft, robbery, and criminal conspiracy. They are currently in police custody and will be produced before a local court. The police are also investigating their possible links to other criminal networks.
Superintendent of Police, Palwal, stated, "This is a major breakthrough in our efforts to curb interstate crime. We urge citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities." The operation highlights the effectiveness of inter-state police collaboration in tackling organized crime.
