In a significant move to boost cross-border tourism, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has launched its first-ever Bharat Gaurav tourist train connecting India to Nepal. Named the "Pashupatinath Nepal Darshan Yatra," this special train is designed for cultural and spiritual explorers, offering visits to iconic Nepalese destinations including Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Chitwan National Park. IRCTC introduced Bharat Gaurav trains to promote theme-based tourism circuits across India, and this marks the first time the service extends to Nepal. The initiative is expected to strengthen tourism ties between the two nations.
Trip Duration and Departure
According to IRCTC's official website, the journey begins from Indore on June 12, 2026. It is a 9-night, 10-day all-inclusive package covering train travel, accommodations, meals, sightseeing, and transfers.

Travelers will experience iconic spiritual centers and natural attractions. A highlight is the ropeway ride to Manakamana Temple, a Hindu pilgrimage site on a hill in central Nepal. The package also includes a jeep safari at Chitwan National Park, home to rhinos, elephants, and Bengal tigers. Kathmandu remains the heart of the trip, with visits to the ancient Pashupatinath Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, which attracts thousands of Indian pilgrims annually.
