A couple from Kodagu, Naveena and Nadar, who were stranded in Kodagu for several months due to fears of escalating war in West Asia, have safely reached Iran. Naveena, daughter of retired Air Force officer Biddanda D Bopanna of Kodagu, and Iranian citizen Nadar were married 40 years ago and have been living in Iran with their two children.
Annual Visit Trapped by Conflict
Every year, Naveena would visit her hometown Kantur in Murnad with her husband Nadar, spending time with family and then visiting her sister. This year, however, their return to Iran was blocked by the war, forcing them to remain in Kodagu for an extended period.
Struggle to Return
Despite multiple attempts to contact the External Affairs Ministry, the couple received no proper response. With the war intensifying and air traffic disrupted, they eventually managed to travel from Bengaluru to Iran via Oman, reaching their home in Bojnur area. The couple had been away from their family for five months, finally reuniting with their children and grandchildren who were eagerly waiting for them.
Joyful Reunion
Sharing their happiness, the couple expressed great joy at being reunited with their family after months of anxiety. They also enjoyed seeing the fruits grown in their garden during their absence.
