LUCKNOW: The journey between Lucknow and Noida has been reduced to just 30 minutes with the launch of the first flight connecting Lucknow Airport and Jewar Airport on Monday. A total of 172 farmers whose land was acquired for the Noida International Airport (NIA) project were among the passengers on the inaugural flight and are scheduled to meet Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow.
The first flight 6E2278 departed Lucknow at around 7.12 am and reached Jewar at 8 am, later at 9.21 am 6E5212 off from NIA for Lucknow and landed at 9.55 am. The special highlight of the inaugural service was the participation of local farmers from the Jewar region.
A farmer Yogesh Kumar said he was amazed by the short travel time. “The flight covered the distance between Noida and Lucknow in just 25 minutes. It feels great. This project will bring development and create employment opportunities in our region. The biggest advantage is that travel between Lucknow and Noida will now take very little time. I want to thank the Chief Minister for this initiative,” he said.
Another passenger, Yogendra Pal Singh, said the new air link would boost economic activity and generate jobs. “I am happy to have reached Lucknow on the first flight. This project will greatly benefit Noida and nearby areas. We want to thank the Chief Minister for making it possible,” he said.
For many passengers, the journey was also a personal milestone. Balkishan Pal, who flew for the first time in his life, said the experience was unforgettable. “It feels wonderful. The distance between Noida and Lucknow has become much shorter, which will improve connectivity and travel. This journey has fulfilled my dream of flying in an aircraft,” he said.
