MC's One Pass Parking Boosts Revenue in Chandigarh

The Chandigarh Municipal Corporation (MC), in collaboration with a private bank, launched the 'one pass' facility for paid parking lots on January 27. Since then, there has been a significant uptick in revenue, both through online and offline modes.

Revenue Growth Through One Pass

According to MC records, the civic body earned Rs 22 lakh in February by issuing the one pass through online mode. In March, this figure rose to Rs 29 lakh. For April, the MC expects to generate Rs 32 lakh in revenue from the one pass facility.

Both the corporation and its private banking partner are maintaining daily data and records of passes issued and revenue collected. Senior officials review these data on a regular basis to monitor progress.

Overall Parking Revenue Increase

Financial records of the MC reveal that overall revenue from paid parking increased in February and March compared to the corresponding period last year. In February 2025, the MC earned approximately Rs 1.04 crore from paid parking. During the same period in 2026, the authority earned around Rs 1.15 crore through paid parking fees. In March 2025, the corporation earned Rs 1.18 crore from paid parking, while in March 2026, it earned Rs 1.35 crore from paid parking fees.

Over 13,000 Takers for One Pass

Since its launch on January 27, more than 13,000 individuals have opted for the one pass. MC officials have urged market and resident welfare associations to promote the one pass among people. The civic body has also requested councillors to convince residents of their respective municipal wards to take the one pass and avail of the parking facility.
