Monsoon Covers Andhra Pradesh, Activity Subdued

Visakhapatnam: The southwest monsoon covered the entire Andhra Pradesh, including north coastal districts, by Monday, about nine days after its onset in the state on June 6. However, overall monsoon activity has remained subdued.

The Met department said hot and humid conditions are likely to prevail at isolated places in coastal Andhra Pradesh (CAP) and Yanam over the next two to three days.

Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are expected at isolated locations across coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Rayalaseema. Gusty winds with speeds of 30–40 kmph may also occur in parts of these regions during the same period.
