The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has launched an extensive operational plan to accommodate the massive influx of passengers expected during the upcoming Chhath Puja festival. With millions of devotees preparing to travel, the railway authority is leaving no stone unturned to ensure smooth and comfortable journeys.
Massive Fleet Expansion for Festival Season
In a significant capacity enhancement, NFR will operate 315 additional special trains between October and November 2024. This strategic move aims to provide approximately 5.6 lakh additional berths, substantially increasing the railway's carrying capacity during the peak festival period.

- Establishment of 267 temporary ticket counters across key stations

NFR spokesperson Sabyasachi De revealed that the railway has conducted extensive preparations to handle the anticipated passenger surge. "Our focus is on ensuring that every devotee can travel safely and comfortably to celebrate Chhath Puja with their families," De stated.
