Maurya Sahdev, a student of Cambridge International School in Phagwara, has been chosen as one of India's official delegates for the Asia Pacific Children’s Convention (APCC) 2026, scheduled to be held in Fukuoka, Japan, from July 11 to July 22. The selection marks a significant achievement for the student, his family, and the local community.
Selection Process and Delegation Details
According to Maurya's parents, Jyoti Sahdev and Gaurav Sahdev, who are members of JCI and owners of Giltz Jewels, the annual convention is organized by the Bridge Club, Japan. Its objective is to promote friendship, cultural exchange, global harmony, and mutual understanding among children from different countries. The selection process was conducted by JCI India and was highly competitive, as each participating country is permitted to send only four to six children in the 11-12-year age group. Maurya's selection as one of India's six official child delegates reflects his outstanding talent, merit, and potential.
Participation and Impact
Delegates from 37 Asian countries will participate in this year's convention, providing young participants with an opportunity to interact, exchange ideas, and experience diverse cultures. Maurya's participation is expected to foster cross-cultural understanding and showcase India's youth talent on an international stage.
