Union power secretary Pankaj Agarwal on Friday inaugurated a double-lane steel truss bridge at Khaira across the Satluj river, developed under the 382 MW Sunni Dam hydroelectric project. The bridge is expected to ease project operations and improve connectivity for remote panchayats in Mandi and Shimla, thereby boosting local socio-economic development.
Inspection and Review of Projects
Agarwal also inspected the dam site, underground machine hall, and tailrace tunnel to assess the progress of the Sunni Dam project. Along with senior officials, he reviewed multiple projects of Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN) across Himachal Pradesh.
Performance Assessment at Nathpa Jhakri
At the 1,500 MW Nathpa Jhakri hydropower station, the team assessed performance benchmarks to ensure optimal operation.
Sustainability Initiatives at Rampur
At the 412 MW Rampur hydropower station, the team promoted sustainability through plantation drives.
Progress Review of Luhri-1 Project
Progress at the 210 MW Luhri-1 project was also reviewed, with emphasis on timely and quality completion. The review aimed to ensure that all projects adhere to schedules and contribute to the region's energy needs.
