Prayagraj: Gearing up for Census 2027, the district administration is imparting training to the census staff for accurate and transparent data collection, said the officials. The Census 2027 would be conducted in two phases including house listing and housing census (HLO) and population enumeration (PE).
Self-Enumeration Phase
The self-enumeration exercise will be conducted from May 7 (Thursday) to May 21. Similarly, the House Listing and Housing Census (HLO) will start on May 22 and would continue until June 21. All the details about the condition of houses, amenities available to the household and assets possessed will be collected.
For self-enumeration starting from Thursday, respondents can log into the SE portal (se.census.gov.in) using their mobile number and other basic details and complete the census schedule at their own convenience. Upon successful submission, a unique Self-Enumeration ID (SE ID) will be generated which is to be shared with the enumerator during the field visit.
Officials claimed that self-enumeration option provides flexibility to fill the information at one’s own convenience before the enumerator’s visit. While enumerators will continue to make house-to-house enumeration in their allocated blocks as in the previous censuses. This would be the first time when self-enumeration facility is being provided to respondents.
Population Enumeration Phase
Under the second phase, population enumeration (PE) will be conducted during February 2027, and details and information on demographic, socio-economic, education, migration, fertility etc will be collected. The Census 2027 will be conducted through digital means. Enumerators will collect and submit data directly through mobile apps.
The authorities have appealed to citizens to provide accurate and complete information to the census team. This initiative aims to ensure a comprehensive and reliable data collection process for the upcoming census.
