Purandar Airport Land Acquisition Reaches 70% Mark in Pune
Purandar Airport Land Acquisition Hits 70% in Pune

The land acquisition consent process for the proposed Purandar international airport has reached the 70% mark, with consent letters received for approximately 851 hectares of the total 1,285 hectares required for the project, district officials confirmed on Wednesday.

Deadline for Consent Collection

The administration had set June 10 as the deadline for the land acquisition consent process. An official stated that a decision on extending the deadline for consent collection has not yet been made.

The official clarified that landowners who submitted consent letters within the stipulated period would be eligible for the announced compensation rate along with additional benefits. In contrast, those who did not may only receive the base land value if acquisition proceeds compulsorily.

Compensation and Benefits

“Those who came forward with consent letters until June 10 will receive the land value and additional benefits. For the remaining landowners, only the base rates for the land will be provided,” the land acquisition official added.

The project spans several villages, including Vanpuri, Kumbharvalan, Udachiwadi, Pargaon, Ekhatpur, Khanwadi, and Munjwadi, where land acquisition is underway for the proposed airport and allied infrastructure.

Progress and Challenges

Compensation worth nearly Rs 900 crore has been disbursed so far to farmers whose acquisition formalities have been completed. Another official noted that progress in the remaining cases has been slow due to the preparation of land search reports and legal verification processes, as several land parcels are under litigation in courts.
