Rain Brings Relief to Bhopal After Humidity and Heat

Bhopal experienced a late evening downpour on Monday, providing significant relief to residents after a day marked by intense humidity and discomfort. The rain followed a period of hot and sultry conditions, as clouds gathered over the city. The state capital recorded a maximum temperature of 38.7 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 25.8 degrees Celsius. Intermittent cloud cover and pre-monsoon activity helped cool the weather during the evening hours.

Weather Forecast for Tuesday

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), similar weather conditions are expected to continue on Tuesday. Cloudy skies are likely during the afternoon, with chances of light rain and thunder activity in parts of the city. The day temperature is expected to remain below 40 degrees Celsius, while the night temperature may hover around 25 degrees Celsius.

Rainfall Statistics

Bhopal has already received 67.7 mm of rainfall since June 1, which is 55.3 mm above the normal for this period. This rainfall has helped the city achieve nearly 51% of its average June rainfall quota of 132.8 mm, even before the official onset of the monsoon. Weather experts attribute this changing pattern to continuous pre-monsoon activity over the past week, which has led to humid afternoons followed by evening showers.
