Jaipur: The Rajasthan Tourism Department has officially launched the 'Rajasthan in Summer' campaign, aiming to reposition the state as a year-round travel destination. This initiative seeks to highlight the unique and immersive experiences that the summer season offers, moving beyond traditional tourist perceptions.
Authentic Summer Experiences
Officials emphasized that summer allows travelers to encounter Rajasthan in a more authentic manner. Visitors can witness dawn breaking over Udaipur's serene lakes, wander through Bundi's historic lanes, or experience the vast solitude of the Thar Desert under the blazing sun. These experiences are designed to appeal to those seeking meaningful journeys rather than conventional sightseeing.
Digital-First Approach
Unlike traditional advertising, the campaign heavily relies on digital storytelling. Short films, social media reels, and curated narratives will showcase Rajasthan's rich heritage and culture. This approach targets younger travelers who increasingly value authentic and immersive experiences. The campaign is integrated with the 'Visit My State' and 'Holiday in Rajasthan' drives, aiming to attract both domestic and international audiences.
Regional Themes
Each region will be presented with its own unique theme. Udaipur will emphasize serene lake tourism and cultural evenings. Bundi is being promoted as a 'hidden heritage' destination. Jaipur and Jodhpur will highlight palace stays, traditional cuisine, and curated cultural nights. The Thar Desert, including Barmer, is positioned for solo travel and immersive rural experiences. Wildlife tourism will also feature prominently, with Ranthambore National Park promoted for its heightened summer activity.
Sustaining Livelihoods
Joint Director Daleep Singh Rathore noted that the campaign is not only about attracting tourists but also about sustaining livelihoods. By involving heritage property operators, artisans, travel agencies, and cultural performers, the state hopes to generate employment and support small businesses. This holistic approach ensures that the benefits of tourism reach local communities.
The 'Rajasthan in Summer' campaign marks a strategic shift to position Rajasthan as a year-round destination, leveraging digital media and authentic experiences to attract a new generation of travelers.
