Jaipur: An active western disturbance brought widespread rainfall activity across Rajasthan from late Friday evening, continuing through Saturday. Many places experienced rainfall, thunderstorms, hail, and gusty winds in the morning. The Met office has issued a thunderstorm and rainfall alert for 23 districts, while temperatures have dropped sharply across much of the state.
Jaipur Weather Update
Jaipur witnessed intermittent showers since Saturday morning, providing relief from heat and humidity. The city recorded 12.2 mm of rainfall. The maximum temperature settled at 34.4°C, which was 5.8°C below normal, while the minimum temperature was 22.1°C, 6°C below normal. Cloudy skies and light rain kept conditions pleasant throughout the day.
Impact Across Northern Rajasthan
The weather system's impact was felt across northern Rajasthan. Strong winds accompanied by rain lashed Bikaner, Sriganganagar, Hanumangarh, Sikar, and Churu districts, while hailstorms were reported from Sriganganagar and Churu. In Churu, a tin shed at Shrimakdinath railway station was blown onto railway tracks, disrupting train operations and causing delays for several hours. In Bhilwara district's Asind area, a woman and a girl were injured after lightning struck on Friday. The injured, Ladu Devi (40) and Kanu Kumari (14), are undergoing treatment and are reported to be stable.
Temperature and Rainfall Highlights
Jaisalmer remained the hottest place in the state with a maximum temperature of 40.8°C, followed by Barmer at 40.4°C. The highest rainfall was recorded in Sikar at 48 mm, followed by Churu at 23.8 mm and Jaipur at 12.2 mm. Rainfall varying from 5 mm to 2 mm was recorded at several places in the state. The sharpest fall in daytime temperatures was recorded in Fatehpur (-8°C), Sikar (-7°C), Pilani (-6°C), Churu (-5.7°C), and Jaipur (-4.5°C) compared to the previous day.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast continued thunderstorm activity, gusty winds, and light to moderate rainfall across parts of Rajasthan over the next 24 to 48 hours.
