Jhansi: In a tragic incident on Saturday morning, a 20-year-old man and his 23-year-old sister died in a road accident when the motorbike they were riding collided with a stationary truck from behind. The accident occurred on the Kanpur-Jhansi highway near the Nandani weighbridge in the Pooch area.
Details of the Incident
According to reports, the deceased were identified as Ishu Ahirwar and his sister Shivani. They were traveling from Dehghua village under Kotwali Jalaun to meet relatives in Moth. Circle Officer of Moth, Ajay Shrotiya, stated that their motorbike hit a stationary truck from behind, leaving both victims in a pool of blood. They were immediately rushed to a local community health center, where doctors declared them dead upon arrival.
“We have sent the bodies for postmortem, and further investigation is underway,” Shrotiya added.
Similar Accident a Day Earlier
In a similar incident a day earlier, a 45-year-old man and his 28-year-old nephew were crushed to death by a speeding truck on the Jhansi-Kanpur highway near Chirgaon. The deceased were identified as Sumit Kumar and his nephew Veer Bahadur. They were returning home when a truck hit their motorbike, killing them instantly.
Both victims were dragged by the truck for over a hundred meters, during which one of the deceased’s head was severed from his body. The truck driver fled the scene after abandoning the vehicle. Police have registered a case and are searching for the absconding driver.
Ongoing Investigations
Authorities are investigating both incidents. In the first accident, the truck involved has been seized, and efforts are being made to trace the driver. The bodies have been sent for postmortem to determine the exact cause of death.
