A road accident on the Nizamabad-Adilabad highway stretch led to six persons suffering injuries on Monday. According to the police, a truck’s tyre getting deflated caused the accident, in which nine vehicles were damaged in a cascading effect. Immediately after the truck halted in the middle of the road, a car closely behind it collided with the truck. Nearly seven cars following these damaged vehicles began to slow down. However, another lorry behind these seven cars hit the last car in the row from the rear as the driver could not control the vehicle's speed.
In the cascading effect, multiple cars were badly damaged. Fortunately, all six individuals who sustained injuries are reported to be out of danger. Following the accident, traffic was halted for a long period on the stretch. Police arrived at the scene and diverted traffic. The injured were also rushed to the hospital. “We have registered a case against the two lorry drivers,” Indalwai police told TOI. It took the police several hours to remove the damaged vehicles from the road.
