Chennai: Southern Railway has announced a series of summer special trains and extended the operation of existing services to clear the extra rush of passengers during the holiday season.
New Weekly Special Train Between Trichy and Bengaluru
A weekly special train will run between Trichy and Bengaluru on May 5, 12, 19, and 26. Train No. 06007 will depart Trichy at 6:15 AM and arrive in Bengaluru at 1:45 PM. On the return journey, Train No. 06008 will leave Bengaluru at 3:00 PM and reach Trichy at 10:30 PM.
Extension of Tambaram-Tuticorin Weekly Special Trains
The Tambaram-Tuticorin weekly special trains are being extended. Train No. 06018 from Tuticorin to Tambaram will continue to run on Mondays from May 4 to June 8, while Train No. 06017 from Tambaram to Tuticorin will operate on Tuesdays from May 5 to June 9.
The departure time of the Tambaram-Tuticorin special has been revised to 3:40 PM, with corresponding changes at Chengalpet and Melmaruvathur.
