In a move to assist devotees attending the annual feast of St Antony’s Basilica at Dornahalli in KR Nagar taluk, the South Western Railway (SWR) has sanctioned a temporary one-minute halt for four express trains at Dornahalli station from June 11 to 14.
Special Stoppage for Pilgrims
The special stoppage was introduced to provide convenient rail connectivity for thousands of pilgrims expected to participate in the annual religious celebrations at the renowned basilica during the festival period. According to railway authorities, the temporary halt aims to manage the increased passenger movement and ensure smooth travel arrangements for devotees from different parts of the region.
Train Schedule Details
Railway officials have released the detailed schedule for the four trains that will make the temporary stop at Dornahalli station. Train No. 16225 Mysuru-Shivamogga Town Express will arrive at Dornahalli station at 10.42 am and depart at 10.43 am. Conversely, Train No. 16226 Shivamogga Town-Mysuru Express will halt from 3.50 pm to 3.51 pm.
Similarly, Train No. 16222 Mysuru-Talguppa Express will stop at the station from 2.35 pm to 2.36 pm, while Train No. 16221 Talguppa-Mysuru Express will arrive at 1.57 pm and depart at 1.58 pm. These brief stops are designed to allow pilgrims to board and alight efficiently without causing significant delays to the overall train schedule.

Railway officials stated that the temporary stoppage was approved keeping in view the increased passenger movement during the annual feast. The decision is expected to benefit thousands of devotees who travel to Dornahalli for the religious event, providing them with a more accessible and convenient travel option.
