Fatehabad police have arrested the third accused in a case involving an overseas job fraud worth Rs 9 lakh. The accused, identified as Rajesh, was apprehended from a hideout in Rajasthan's Hanumangarh district. He was produced before a local court, which remanded him to police custody for three days.
Details of the Fraud
The fraud came to light when a victim from Fatehabad district filed a complaint alleging that the accused had promised him a job abroad and took Rs 9 lakh from him. The victim said he was lured by the promise of a high-paying job in a foreign country. However, after receiving the money, the accused stopped responding to his calls and went missing.
Police Investigation
Police had earlier arrested two other accused in the same case. The arrested individuals are being questioned to uncover the full extent of the fraud and identify any other victims. The investigation is ongoing, and police are looking into possible links to other similar cases in the region.
Authorities have urged people to be cautious of such fraudulent schemes and verify the credentials of any agency promising overseas jobs. They advise job seekers to report any suspicious offers to the police immediately.
