In a tragic road accident in Fatehgarh Sahib district of Punjab, three persons were killed after a car collided with their motorcycle. The incident took place late on Tuesday evening on the Sirhind-Bassi Pathana road.
Details of the Accident
According to the police, the motorcycle was carrying three people when a speeding car hit them from behind near the village of Manakpur. The impact was so severe that all three bike riders were thrown off and died on the spot. The car driver fled the scene after the accident.
Victims Identified
The deceased have been identified as Gurpreet Singh (28), Jaspreet Singh (25), and Manpreet Kaur (22), all residents of nearby villages. They were returning from a wedding function when the accident occurred.
Police Investigation
Senior police officials reached the spot and conducted an investigation. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination. A case has been registered against the unknown car driver under sections of the Indian Penal Code for causing death by negligence and rash driving. Police are scanning CCTV footage to trace the car.
