Trichy International Airport on Monday celebrated the passenger facilitation day, known as Yatri Suvidha Divas, as part of nationwide events marking 12 years of growth and transformation in the civil aviation sector. The Airports Authority of India (AAI) organized a series of passenger-friendly drives and promotional events for school and college students to help them understand commercial air transport operations.
Welcoming Passengers
Both domestic and international air passengers arriving at the airport were felicitated with a traditional welcome. Tree and plant saplings were presented to passengers and visitors to encourage environmental awareness.
Patriotic Rendition and Wellness Activities
A collective rendition of Vande Mataram was sung by airport employees, security personnel, airlines staff, and other stakeholders. Sessions on yoga and wellness awareness programs for passengers and airport staff were conducted. School children were invited and given explanations about the roles and responsibilities of all stakeholders, including security and fire service personnel at the airport, according to S S Raju, airport director.
