Erode: Two young men lost their lives, and two others sustained grievous injuries in a head-on collision between two motorcycles near KMS Garden on the Amman Koil Division to Sikkarasampalayam village road on Monday.
Details of the Accident
The deceased have been identified as Sathiyamoorthi, 24, and Sakthivel, 21, both residents of Sathyamangalam. Both individuals were riding the two motorcycles involved in the collision. According to Sathyamangalam sub-inspector M Vairakumar, the accident occurred when both riders failed to notice each other while navigating a cross road, leading to the head-on impact.
Injuries and Medical Response
The two pillion riders, Divakar, 17, and Vignesh, 23, also from Sathyamangalam, were critically injured in the crash. They were immediately rushed to Coimbatore Government Medical College and Hospital, where they are currently undergoing treatment for their severe injuries.
Police Action
Police recovered the bodies of the deceased and sent them to Sathyamangalam Government Hospital for postmortem examination. A case has been registered in connection with the incident, and investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the collision.
