Chennai: Two individuals lost their lives in separate road accidents in the Poonamallee and Madhavaram areas of Chennai. The incidents occurred on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, leaving the community in shock.

First Accident: Collision with Government Bus

In the first incident, Prakash, a 25-year-old electrician and resident of Rajiv Gandhi Nagar in Nazarathpet, died after his motorcycle collided with a government bus on the Poonamallee-Bengaluru National Highway. Prakash was traveling with his friend Surya, 20, who was riding pillion. The impact of the collision was fatal for Prakash, who died on the spot. Surya sustained critical injuries and was immediately rushed to Kilpauk Government Hospital by the Avadi Traffic Investigation Police. The police have arrested the bus driver, identified as Ayyappan, 50, and an investigation is currently underway to determine the exact cause of the accident.

Second Accident: Hit-and-Run Case

In another tragic incident, Sathyaraj, 57, a resident of Ambedkar Nagar, was killed in a hit-and-run accident on Wednesday morning. Sathyaraj was riding his motorcycle home from Moolakadai when, upon reaching Ponniamman Medu, an unidentified vehicle struck his two-wheeler. The impact threw him off the vehicle, and he was subsequently run over, dying instantly. A case has been registered, and police are examining CCTV footage from nearby areas to trace the vehicle involved. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist in the investigation.
