A high-level delegation from the University of Queensland, Australia, on its first day of visit to New Delhi, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Lady Shri Ram College for Women (LSR), University of Delhi on 25 May 2026. The delegation, led by Chancellor Peter Varghese AO and President & Vice-Chancellor Prof. Deborah Terry AC, was welcomed by LSR Principal Prof. Kanika K. Ahuja at the college premises.

Scope of the MoU

The MoU encompasses collaboration in several key areas, including academic exchanges, reciprocal short-term student visits, joint workshops, development of potential recognition of prior learning pathways, and opportunities for study abroad. Additionally, faculty research collaborations and co-supervision of research dissertations and academic projects were discussed. This partnership with the University of Queensland, ranked 42nd globally in the QS World University Rankings, marks a significant milestone for Lady Shri Ram College in expanding its global footprint.

Peter Varghese AO, Chancellor of the University of Queensland, termed the MoU a "productive collaboration and appreciation of the commendable work LSR College does." He congratulated the college for consistently maintaining its excellence and brand value. Prof. Deborah Terry AC applauded LSR as "an impressive college" and reiterated the need to work together for academic excellence and community outreach. She expressed particular appreciation for the community outreach and entrepreneurial spirit demonstrated by LSR students in various projects and expressed hope that University of Queensland students could visit LSR to participate in such initiatives and learn the value of giving back to the community.
