Uttarkashi Car Accident
A tragic road accident occurred today near Gangnani on the Gangotri National Highway in Uttarkashi district. A Swift car traveling from Gangnani towards Uttarkashi suddenly lost control and plunged into a deep gorge. Five people were on board the vehicle.
Upon receiving information about the incident, the district administration took swift action and initiated relief and rescue operations. Acting on the directives of District Magistrate Prashant Arya, teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), police, revenue, and health departments were immediately dispatched to the scene.
So far, rescue teams have recovered the bodies of one woman and one man. Meanwhile, one injured woman and two injured men have been extricated from the gorge and brought to road level. All injured individuals are being transported to the Community Health Centre (CHC) Bhatwari for medical treatment.
At the accident site, SDRF, police, and health department teams are engaged in relief and rescue operations with full vigilance. The health department has deployed ambulances and essential life-saving equipment to the scene. Additionally, the Primary Health Centre (PHC) Bhatwari has been placed on high alert.
The administration is continuously monitoring the situation, and an investigation into the causes of the accident is underway.
