Vadodara Police Verify Suspected Illegal Bangladeshi Immigrants

Vadodara: Police have initiated a large-scale verification drive following intelligence inputs regarding suspected Bangladeshi immigrants allegedly residing illegally in the city. City Police Commissioner Narasimha Komar confirmed that seven individuals have come under suspicion, and authorities are currently gathering further details to verify their nationality.

Ongoing Verification Process

“The exercise is aimed at establishing nationality and verifying documents. It is an ongoing process,” Komar stated, emphasizing that the operation is part of a broader effort to ensure compliance with immigration laws.

Previous Actions Against Illegal Immigration

This operation comes amid intensified action against illegal immigration in the state. In May last year, Vadodara rural police detained 30 Bangladeshi nationals who were allegedly residing illegally in Padra taluka. Police reported that those individuals had fled from Ahmedabad’s Chandola area and relocated to Bhoj village in Padra.
