Surat: Final preparations are underway for the two-day Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (VGRC), which will be inaugurated on Friday. The event features a packed agenda covering investment, industry, sustainability, and regional development.
Day One Highlights
The opening day begins with a seminar on Japan, organized by the Japan External Trade Organisation, highlighting opportunities for collaboration and business engagement. This is followed by a session on holistic farming, focusing on value addition in agriculture. A round table discussion on global capability centres is also scheduled, drawing attention to emerging opportunities in the business and service sectors.
Key sessions on the first day include a presentation by GIFT City on integrating industries in central and south Gujarat with global capital through the International Financial Services Centre. The textile sector features prominently with a session on weaving innovation with sustainability. Another major event is a seminar on transforming Gujarat's chemicals and petrochemicals sector.
The conference also hosts discussions on the future of nuclear power, fertilisers, natural gas, and tourism, reflecting the state's broad development priorities.
Day Two Agenda
On the second day, the Surat Municipal Corporation will present the Surat Economic Region plan. Other sessions focus on aquaculture, green energy, ecotourism, and the gems and jewellery sector. An MSME conclave organised by the MSME commissionerate has also been scheduled.
Stakeholder Participation
The conference is expected to bring together stakeholders from government, industry, and trade to deliberate on growth opportunities across key sectors in Gujarat.
