The West Champaran district administration is set to launch a special 'Jan Bhagidari Abhiyan' from May 18 to 25, focusing on remote tribal-dominated areas inhabited by the Tharu and Oraon communities. The campaign will cover 127 scheduled tribe-dominated villages across five blocks: Bagaha II, Gaunaha, Ramnagar, Mainatanr, and Yogapatti.
Campaign Objectives
Officials stated that the initiative aims to bring government services directly to the doorsteps of beneficiaries who often face exclusion due to geographical and administrative barriers. Special mega camps will be organized in identified villages during the campaign period, where residents can apply for certificates, pensions, and other welfare schemes on the spot. Health department teams will also conduct free medical check-ups and distribute medicines.
Grievance Redressal
Grievance redressal programs will be held at selected service centers, allowing villagers to present their issues directly to officials for prompt resolution. The campaign is being monitored by Deputy Development Commissioner Kajle Vaibhav Nitin.

District Magistrate Taranjot Singh emphasized, "The main objective of the Jan Bhagidari Abhiyan is to ensure that no eligible person living in remote tribal areas of the district is deprived of government schemes. The administration will reach out to villages to resolve people's problems and provide benefits on the spot. We are committed to making this campaign a success by coordinating with all concerned departments."
Participation Details
The administration has urged residents to contact their Vikas Mitra or block welfare officer for details on camp schedules and to participate in large numbers to avail the benefits. The campaign reflects a concerted effort to bridge the gap between remote tribal communities and essential government services, ensuring inclusive development.
