The week-long study tour of Bihar by a delegation of 50 youths from Punjab under the Yuva Sangam Phase VI programme of the Government of India's Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat initiative concluded at IIT Patna on Saturday.
Closing Ceremony Highlights
The closing ceremony was attended by state Panchayati Raj Minister Deepak Prakash, Takhat Sri Harimandir Ji Patna Sahib Prabandhak Committee Vice-President Guruvindar Singh, and IIT Patna Director T N Singh.
IIT Patna Director's Remarks
Welcoming the guests and participants, Singh said initiatives like Yuva Sangam bring together people from different cities, states, cultures and backgrounds, enabling mutual learning and strengthening the spirit of national unity.
Significance of Sikh Heritage in Bihar
Guruvindar Singh said Bihar holds a special place in Sikh history. Referring to Takhat Sri Harmandir Ji Patna Sahib, he said visits to such sites provide new energy and inspiration. He added that the delegates' tour would help them understand Bihar from a fresh perspective and carry back meaningful experiences.
Minister's Address on National Unity
Addressing the gathering, the minister highlighted India's strength in its diversity. He said the youth of Bihar and Punjab are hardworking and full of potential, and by learning from one another, they can contribute significantly towards the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
The programme reinforced the objective of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, fostering cross-cultural understanding and unity among the youth of different states.
