A low-intensity earthquake shook parts of Uttarakhand's Bageshwar district early Tuesday morning. The tremor measured 3.5 on the Richter scale. It caused panic among local residents who rushed out of their homes in fear.

District disaster management officials confirmed the earthquake occurred at around 7.25 am. The epicentre was located near Kapkot town. This location sits approximately 30 kilometres from the Bageshwar district headquarters.
Shikha Suyal, the Bageshwar district disaster management officer, provided an update. She stated the situation remained normal after the tremor. No casualties were reported. Officials also confirmed there was no damage to property.

The sudden quake triggered immediate panic. People ran from their houses into open areas as a safety precaution. Many residents reported feeling the ground shake for several seconds.
