In celebration of World Environment Day 2026, around 500 fruit-bearing trees were planted at Nagar Van Chapoli in Canacona. The plantation drive was led by Canacona MLA Ramesh Tawadkar, in the presence of Assistant Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Praveen Kumar Raghav, Deputy Conservator of Forests Santosh Kumar Reddy, and other officials. The initiative aims to enhance green cover and promote environmental sustainability in the region.

A power shutdown is scheduled on June 8 from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm. Areas to be affected include Sainagar and vicinity, Bambordem, Sataporia, and surrounding areas.

Another shutdown on June 8 from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm will affect Old Vaddem, Vaddem col no 01, Vaddem col no 02, Gauliwada, and vicinity.
Vasco (June 8)
On June 8 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, areas including Chicalim panchayat, waterways shipyard, Chicalim post office, and vicinity will experience a power outage.
Sancoale (June 9)
A power shutdown is arranged on June 9 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at the 11KV Ashoka feeder from Sancoale Substation for routine maintenance. Affected areas are Jutex, Zuarinagar, and surrounding areas.
