The meteorological department predicts that this low-pressure area is likely to intensify into a depression around November 24, 2025, raising concerns about possible cyclone formation in the Bay of Bengal region.
Rainfall Warnings and Affected Regions
The IMD has issued specific heavy rainfall alerts for multiple regions across southern India. Andaman and Nicobar Islands are expected to experience heavy rainfall during November 22-27, with the weather department particularly warning about very heavy rainfall on November 24 and 25.
Other regions facing significant weather alerts include:
- Tamil Nadu: Heavy rainfall expected during November 22-25
- Kerala and Mahe: Heavy rainfall forecast from November 22-26
- Lakshadweep: Heavy rainfall on November 22 and 23
