According to the latest bulletin from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a low-pressure area is likely to form over the southeast Bay of Bengal around May 22nd. Weather models suggest this system may concentrate into a depression by May 24th, with potential further intensification.

The Odisha administration has already activated its emergency response mechanism. Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Satyabrata Sahu confirmed that all district collectors have been put on high alert and instructed to implement immediate precautionary measures.
