Delhi Fog & Temperature Drop: IMD Forecast for Dec 1-5
Delhi Weather: Foggy Mornings, Temperature Drop Ahead

Residents of India's national capital welcomed Sunday morning with a layer of shallow fog as temperatures settled at 12 degrees Celsius, according to the India Meteorological Department. The weather agency has issued a detailed forecast indicating similar conditions will persist through the coming week.

Detailed Weather Forecast for Delhi

The IMD recorded the temperature at 7:00 AM on November 30 showing 12 degrees Celsius with a partly cloudy sky. The weather department has predicted that shallow to moderate fog is likely to continue during morning hours from December 1 to December 5.

During this period, minimum temperatures are expected to remain normal, hovering between 8 to 10 degrees Celsius. The IMD noted that these temperatures might slightly deviate within a range of -1.5 to 1.5°C until Tuesday.

Temperature Trends and Wind Patterns

The maximum temperature in Delhi is anticipated to settle between 23 to 25 degrees Celsius, which the weather agency categorizes as normal to below normal with deviations ranging from -1.6 to -3.0 degrees during the same timeframe.

In a press release dated November 29, the IMD indicated changing wind patterns. Surface winds are likely to come from the Northwest direction, starting calm but gradually increasing to up to 10 kmph during morning hours. The wind speed is expected to further intensify in the afternoon, reaching less than 15 kmph while maintaining the northwest direction.

Five-Day Weather Outlook

Looking ahead to the next five days, the meteorological department forecasts a noticeable drop in both minimum and maximum temperatures. Between December 3 and December 5, temperatures are likely to decrease by approximately 2 to 3°C.

The IMD specifically stated that both minimum and maximum temperatures are likely to be below normal to appreciably below normal during this period, with deviations potentially reaching 2-5 degrees Celsius below typical seasonal averages.

Despite the temperature changes, the skies are expected to remain generally clear throughout the coming days, with fog conditions primarily confined to morning hours. This pattern suggests typical winter weather conditions for the national capital region as December progresses.
