Elephant Pongal Celebrated with Grandeur at Trichy Rescue Centre
The forest department in Trichy marked a festive occasion on Friday. They celebrated Elephant Pongal at the elephant rehabilitation and rescue centre located in MR Palayam. This event brought joy and care to the majestic animals under their protection.
A Feast Fit for Elephants
Officials decorated the elephants beautifully for the celebration. They prepared a special feast full of delicious and nutritious items. The menu included traditional pongal, fresh peas, and a variety of fruits. Vegetables, tubers, and greens added to the spread. Sugarcane and other treats completed the meal, ensuring the elephants enjoyed a hearty and healthy feast.
Leadership and Participation
Trichy circle's chief conservator of forests, R Kanchana, led the festival activities. District forest officer S Krithiga joined in the celebrations. Assistant conservator of forests I. Kadhar Basha and range forest officer V. P. Subramaniam also participated actively. Other staff members from the Trichy forest range attended the event, showing strong team support.
