Gujarat Weather Update: Temperatures Set to Climb Over Next Three Days

Residents of Gujarat should prepare for warmer days ahead, as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts a significant rise in temperatures across the state. According to the latest forecast, maximum temperatures are expected to increase by 3-5°C, while minimum temperatures will see a rise of 2-3°C over the next three days. After this period, no major changes are anticipated, signaling a shift towards more stable and warmer weather conditions.

Current Weather Conditions and Recent Trends

On Friday, Ahmedabad experienced cooler-than-usual temperatures, with a maximum of 34.2°C and a minimum of 18.2°C, both below the normal range for this time of year. The city is likely to see partly cloudy skies in the coming days, with maximum temperatures hovering around 34°C and minimums around 19°C.

Over the past 24 hours, isolated pockets of Gujarat, particularly in the Saurashtra region, witnessed varying intensities of rainfall. Heavy rain was reported in Gir Somnath district, while light rainfall occurred in parts of Saurashtra and Diu. However, large areas of the state, including Kutch, Daman, and Dadra & Nagar Haveli, remained largely dry.

Detailed Forecast for Gujarat Districts

For Saturday, light to moderate rain or thundershowers may occur at isolated places in several districts:

  • North Gujarat: Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Patan, and Mehsana.
  • Saurashtra-Kutch: Amreli, Bhavnagar, Gir Somnath, and Kutch.
  • Union Territory: Diu.

From Sunday onwards, dry weather is expected to prevail across all districts of Gujarat, Saurashtra-Kutch, and the Union territories of Diu, Daman, and Dadra & Nagar Haveli for the remainder of the week. The IMD has not issued any weather warnings for the state over the next seven days, indicating a period of calm and predictable conditions.

Temperature Trends and Meteorological Influences

Day temperatures have dipped noticeably across many parts of Gujarat and Saurashtra, remaining below normal in numerous areas. In contrast, minimum temperatures have shown a mixed pattern, with rises observed in parts of Kutch while staying below normal in much of Gujarat and Saurashtra-Kutch.

The current weather patterns are being influenced by two key meteorological systems:

  1. An upper-air cyclonic circulation over southwest Rajasthan and adjoining Pakistan.
  2. A western disturbance extending from north Haryana to north Chhattisgarh.

These systems are contributing to the variability in rainfall and temperature observed across the region. As they dissipate, the forecast points towards a gradual warming trend, making it advisable for residents to adjust their wardrobes and daily routines accordingly.

This weather update provides essential information for planning outdoor activities and staying comfortable during the transitional period. Keep monitoring local forecasts for any further changes.
