Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini paid a powerful tribute to the ninth Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadar, on Monday, declaring that his name stands foremost when the nation remembers those who made the ultimate sacrifice for the protection of the country and religion. The CM was speaking at a significant event in Kalesar, Yamunanagar, where he inaugurated a major conservation project dedicated to the Guru's legacy.
New Forest Block and Key Initiatives Launched
To honor the 350th martyrdom year of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadar, the Chief Minister inaugurated the newly established Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji Forest, Wildlife and Biodiversity Conservation Block within the Kalesar National Park. In a symbolic act that blended homage with environmental action, CM Saini planted 350 saplings alongside students inside the newly designated conservation area.
The event also saw the launch of several key infrastructure projects aimed at boosting eco-tourism and security. Saini inaugurated a new safari trail and the Sri Guru Tegh Bahadar Dwar (gate). Looking to the future, he laid the foundation stone for an AI-based monitoring tower, a tree canopy walk, and three-tier watchtowers. These projects are designed to strengthen surveillance against illegal activities and enhance ecological awareness among visitors.
Major Announcements for Yamunanagar's Development
In a significant announcement for the region's educational landscape, Chief Minister Saini declared that the upcoming agricultural college on 45 acres in Pratappur–Kishanpura, Yamunanagar, will be named after Sri Guru Tegh Bahadar Ji. This move permanently links the Guru's values to the field of agriculture and education in Haryana.
Further addressing local infrastructure needs, the CM ordered feasibility studies for the construction of the Yamunanagar–Kapal Mochan road bypass, a project that promises to ease traffic congestion and improve connectivity for residents and pilgrims.
A Fusion of Nature, Spirituality, and Human Values
Calling the green expanse of Kalesar a source of immense spiritual energy, CM Saini stated that the new conservation block would become a living symbol of the union of nature, spirituality, and human values. He paid rich homage to Sri Guru Tegh Bahadar, describing him as an epitome of sacrifice, compassion, and courage.
"The calmness of water, the humility of dense trees, and the strength of mountains are reflected in his life. Establishing this conservation block in his name is a living embodiment of his teachings," the CM remarked. He emphasized that the Guru taught the world that true strength lies in protecting others, and that a true religion is one which respects nature, living beings, and humanity alike.
Highlighting the initiative's broader impact, Saini said it would serve as a milestone in Haryana's ongoing efforts in forest conservation and biodiversity enhancement, directly carrying forward the Guru's deep commitment to environmental harmony.
Drawing inspiration from India's ancient tradition of forest-based learning, the CM also pointed to revered trees in Sikh history, such as the Dukhbhanjani Beri at Darbar Sahib in Amritsar, which symbolizes peace during difficult times.
Concluding with a call to action, CM Saini urged the public to join the state's green mission. He asked families to plant at least one sapling, encouraged students to connect with nature from childhood, and called upon the youth to adopt trees as their guardians. "Only then can we make Haryana truly green," he asserted.
The event was attended by Agriculture Minister Shyam Singh Rana, MLA Ghanshyam Dass Arora, along with numerous officials, dignitaries, and local residents, marking a collective step towards a greener and more spiritually connected Haryana.
