IMD Predicts Rising Temperatures in Ahmedabad Following Cooler Week

After a week of relatively cooler conditions, residents of Ahmedabad are set to experience a significant rise in temperatures starting next week, according to the latest forecast from the India Meteorological Department (IMD). This shift marks a return to warmer weather patterns across the region.

Recent Temperature Trends and IMD Projections

On Friday, the maximum temperature in Ahmedabad was recorded at 38.4°C, which is 0.6 degrees lower than the normal average for this time of year. This represented a notable increase from the 35.8°C recorded on Wednesday, indicating a warming trend. Meanwhile, the minimum temperature stood at 25°C, which is 1.8 degrees higher than normal, suggesting milder nights.

The IMD forecast indicates that the maximum temperature is likely to remain in a similar range on Saturday. However, over the next three days, a gradual rise of 2-4 degrees Celsius in maximum temperatures is expected across Gujarat. After this period, no significant changes are anticipated in the region's weather conditions.

Discomfort Conditions and Regional Hotspots

The forecast also highlights that discomfort conditions are likely due to hot and humid air across the coastal regions from April 12 to 16. This could lead to increased heat stress for residents in these areas.

In other parts of Gujarat, temperatures have already soared, with Kandla recording a high of 40.7°C. Other cities experiencing elevated temperatures include Surat at 39.4°C, Deesa and Vadodara both at 39.2°C, and VV Nagar at 39.1°C. These readings underscore the broader heatwave conditions affecting the state.

As the weather transitions, it is essential for citizens to stay informed and take necessary precautions against the rising heat. The IMD continues to monitor the situation closely, providing updates to help the public prepare for the upcoming warmer days.
