India Energy Week 2026: Goa to Host Premier Global Energy Conclave with Massive International Participation

The coastal state of Goa is set to become the epicenter of global energy discussions as it prepares to host India Energy Week 2026, the country's largest international energy conclave, from January 27 to 30, 2026. This prestigious event is expected to attract an unprecedented gathering of over 75,000 delegates representing more than 120 countries, all converging to address one of the most pressing challenges of our time: balancing rapid economic growth with ambitious climate goals.

High-Level Inauguration and Distinguished Speakers

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate the conclave, which will be held at the ONGC convention centre in Betul. The event will feature Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri as the main speaker, alongside distinguished international figures including UAE's Industry Minister Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber and Canada's Energy Minister Tim Hodgson. The ministerial participation extends to representatives from Africa, West Asia, and Central Asia, who will contribute to critical discussions on energy security, investment opportunities, and practical pathways toward decarbonization.

From Discussion to Implementation: A Platform for Practical Solutions

Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri emphasized the conclave's significance, stating: "India Energy Week 2026 is a global convening point for the ideas, technologies and partnerships that will define the next phase of the energy transition." He further highlighted the urgent need to move beyond theoretical discussions, adding: "The focus now must be on moving from discussion to implementation - advancing practical solutions through collaboration across governments, industry and financial institutions."

Cutting-Edge Technologies and Comprehensive Exhibition

The event will showcase a comprehensive array of future energy technologies, including:

  • Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) innovations
  • Green hydrogen production and applications
  • Renewable energy solutions
  • Carbon capture technologies
  • AI-driven energy management systems

According to Gurmeet Singh, Director General of the Federation of Indian Petroleum Industry (FIPI), dedicated sessions will explore hydrogen economies, green finance mechanisms, and concrete pathways to achieving net-zero goals. This comprehensive approach reinforces IEW's position as a leading global platform for energy dialogue and collaboration.

An accompanying exhibition will host more than 700 companies across the entire energy value chain, with several automobile manufacturers showcasing advanced flex-fuel engines alongside other innovative technologies.

Expanding Scope and Enhanced Participation

The event will feature an extensive program including:

  1. Ministerial roundtables on policy coordination
  2. Dialogues examining global capital flows into energy transition
  3. Public-private sector discussions on implementation challenges
  4. Technology showcases from multinational corporations, established energy companies, and high-growth startups

Building on the success of the 2025 edition, which attracted over 68,000 participants, 570 exhibitors, 5,400 conference delegates, and 540+ global speakers across 100 conference sessions, organizers anticipate significantly higher participation in 2026. Gurmeet Singh confirmed that special provisions have been made for delegates, chief executive officers, and VIPs, including arrival options via vessel and helicopter to accommodate the expected surge in attendance.

This gathering represents a critical milestone in India's leadership role in the global energy transition, bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, financiers, and innovators to translate climate commitments into actionable strategies that can drive sustainable economic development worldwide.
