Indore Records Hottest February Day as Mercury Hits 33.1°C

Indore recorded its warmest day of February on Thursday, with the maximum temperature climbing to 33.1 degrees Celsius. This marks the first time this month that the mercury has crossed the 33-degree mark, signaling a significant shift in the city's weather patterns.

Temperature Details and Daily Comparison

The minimum temperature remained steady at 14.6 degrees Celsius, which is close to normal levels for this time of year. With clouds clearing from the city's skies, the effect of rising heat became evident throughout the day.

According to data from the airport-based meteorological centre, the maximum temperature was approximately one degree above normal and nearly 1.5 degrees higher than the previous day. Earlier, Wednesday saw a high of 32.7 degrees Celsius, which was the highest recorded so far this season.

Resident Experiences and Daytime Observations

At 8:30 AM, when the temperature had already reached 20.4 degrees Celsius, many residents felt a noticeable change in the air. By 5:30 PM, even as the sun began to dip, the temperature remained at 29.8 degrees Celsius.

Commuters heading home experienced sustained warmth rather than the gradual relief that evenings offered earlier this month, highlighting the intensifying heat conditions.

Meteorological Analysis and Forecast

Meteorologists reported that clear conditions are prevailing across most parts of the region, with only light clouding in isolated pockets. Dr. Divya Surendran from the Bhopal Meteorological Centre stated that dry weather is expected to continue across the state over the next five days, with no warnings issued for adverse conditions.

However, maximum temperatures are likely to rise gradually by two to four degrees over the next three to four days.

Broader Outlook for March

The broader weather outlook suggests that March will open on a warmer note. During the first week of the month, maximum temperatures may touch 36 to 37 degrees Celsius, while night temperatures could rise to 19 or 20 degrees Celsius.

This increase is expected to reduce the mild chill currently felt during late evenings and early mornings, indicating a trend toward warmer weather as the season progresses.
