Leopard Found Dead in Village, Suspected Heart Attack or Starvation

Forest Officials Investigate Likely Causes
Forest officials, however, indicated that heart failure and starvation appeared more probable causes of death. They emphasized that the exact cause would only be confirmed after a thorough postmortem examination. A member of the team conducting the autopsy noted that the leopard may have suffered a heart attack, with its lungs not functioning properly, suggesting underlying health issues.
Forest department SDO M S Gusain provided further details, stating, "The leopard was a male, around six years old. Prolonged starvation may also have contributed to the death. Viscera samples have been preserved for forensic analysis and a detailed report is awaited." This highlights the ongoing investigation to determine the precise factors leading to the animal's demise.
