Addressing India's Pollution Crisis

Abbayya emphasized the urgent need to create awareness about the environment among children. He also stressed that the public must be educated at the community level. The MLA pointed out alarming statistics during his address.

"More than 90 cities in India rank among the world's 100 most polluted cities," he stated. "India holds the fifth position among the most polluted countries globally."

He expressed deep concern about the contamination of food sources. Abbayya declared that humanity has poisoned both the air and the earth. He lamented the ongoing destruction of natural resources.

Rivers, air, mountains, hills, and forests are all suffering from severe degradation according to his observations.

Celebrating KSPCB's 50-Year Milestone

The event marked the 50th anniversary of the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB). Multiple organizations collaborated to host this festival.

The School Education and Literacy Department worked alongside the District Education and Training Institute. The KSPCB partnered with taluk administration to make the celebration possible.

Officials and Students Participate Actively

Probationary IAS officer Ritika Verma also addressed the gathering. She highlighted the importance of educating children about pollution control measures.

Verma urged teachers to dedicate more time to students facing learning challenges. She believes personalized attention can foster better understanding of environmental issues.

The festival featured various competitions to engage young minds. Students participated in painting, essay writing, quiz contests, and poetry recitations.

Winners from these competitions received awards during the event. This recognition aimed to encourage continued interest in environmental topics.
