Birendra Kumar Dey is known as a popular teacher in the community. People affectionately call him 'Jhunu Sir'. The attack on his home has shocked many in Bahor village, where he is well-respected.
Pattern of Violence Against Minorities
This incident is part of a broader pattern of violence targeting the Hindu minority in Bangladesh. Since the lynching of garment factory worker Dipu Chandra Das on December 18, eight members of the Hindu community have died in similar atrocities.
