Nagpur Minister Orders Urgent Measures to Combat Tiger Attacks in Pench Region
In response to escalating tiger movement and a surge in attacks around the Pench area, Minister of State Ashish Jaiswal has issued directives for immediate protective fencing in vulnerable zones. The announcement came during a high-level review meeting held at Sillari in Ramtek on Monday, where Jaiswal emphasized the urgency of addressing the growing human-wildlife conflict.
Comprehensive Safety Plan Unveiled
Jaiswal outlined a multi-faceted strategy to enhance safety and response mechanisms. In addition to the protective fencing, he instructed officials to develop green zones in necessary areas to create buffer spaces between human settlements and forest habitats. The minister also mandated the deployment of dedicated mobile and medical units, ensuring rapid emergency response capabilities for affected communities.

The minister noted that AI-enabled cameras have already been installed in select villages, with instructions to expand this surveillance network to enhance monitoring capabilities. These technological measures complement the physical barriers being implemented.
During the meeting, which included discussions with the Forest Development Corporation of Maharashtra, authorities were specifically directed to suspend any fresh tree felling or plantation work at this stage.
