Ranchi's Inaugural State Flower Show Opens with Spectacular Display
The state department of forest, environment and climate change launched its first-ever flower show in Jharkhand on Saturday. This two-day event is taking place at Oxygen Park in Morabadi, Ranchi. Organizers confirmed that more than 200 varieties of flowers are on display. These include both indigenous Indian species and exotic blooms from across the country.
Diverse Floral Attractions Captivate Visitors
Visitors are flocking to see a stunning array of flowers. Popular varieties drawing special attention include petunia, calendula, verbena, and periwinkle. The exhibition also features chrysanthemum, dianthus, dahlia, and bacardo. Other notable displays include Erica Palm, Chhatispati, kalanchoe, roses, and double delight.
Beyond the floral exhibits, an organic products section is proving particularly popular. This area is attracting large numbers of visitors, especially young people and gardening enthusiasts. The combination of vibrant flowers and natural products creates a unique experience for attendees.
Practical Gardening Tools and Demonstrations
The flower show offers more than just visual beauty. Exhibition organizers are displaying various horticulture tools for both demonstration and sale. These include both manual implements and machine-operated equipment. Visitors can see these tools in action and learn practical gardening techniques.
Event organizers emphasize that the show aims to promote gardening and horticulture as accessible practices. They want to demonstrate how people can cultivate plants even in limited spaces like apartments and small households.
Official Vision for Horticulture Promotion
Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Ravi Ranjan shared his perspective on the initiative. "This marks our department's first such effort in Jharkhand," he stated. "We are starting on a modest scale this year, but we already showcase over 200 colorful flower species. We plan to expand the event significantly in coming years."
Ranjan explained the primary objective behind the exhibition. "Our main goal is raising awareness about horticulture," he said. "We want to encourage people to adopt gardening as part of their urban lifestyles. This show demonstrates what's possible even in city environments."
Visitor Reactions and Community Impact
Local residents are expressing enthusiasm about the flower show. Tirloki Gupta, who lives in Morabadi, shared her impressions. "The combination of flowers and organic products makes this exhibition truly unique," she observed. "It feels refreshing to experience such an eco-friendly initiative right here in our city."
Gupta marveled at the variety on display. "The range of flowers here is genuinely impressive," she continued. "Walking through the exhibition feels like taking a garden tour across different countries. All this beauty is available right in the heart of our city, which makes it even more special."
The flower show continues to welcome visitors through its second day. Organizers hope the event will inspire more Ranchi residents to explore gardening and appreciate horticultural diversity.
