Winter Chill Grips Telangana as Monsoon Makes Exit
The retreat of the southwest monsoon has ushered in noticeably cooler conditions across Telangana, with several parts of the state experiencing a significant drop in temperatures that marks the beginning of the post-monsoon chill. Residents are waking up to cooler mornings after weeks of humid weather, with minimum temperatures falling by 3-4 degrees Celsius across multiple districts.
Record Low Temperatures Across Districts
According to the latest data from the Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS), Hanumakonda recorded the state's lowest minimum temperature at 13.9 degrees Celsius, closely followed by Nirmal at 14.1 degrees Celsius and Rangareddy at 18.2 degrees Celsius. The cooling trend has been widespread, with districts including Sangareddy (18.6°C), Vikarabad (18.9°C), and Kumuram Bheem (19.1°C) all reporting significantly cooler morning conditions.
Most other districts across Telangana have seen minimum temperatures ranging between 19 degrees Celsius and 20 degrees Celsius, indicating a consistent cooling pattern throughout the region. This temperature drop brings relief from the persistent humidity that characterized the monsoon period.
Hyderabad Feels the Early Winter Bite
The capital city Hyderabad is clearly experiencing the seasonal shift, with several areas recording temperatures below the 20-degree Celsius mark. Serilingampally reported the city's lowest reading at 19.3 degrees Celsius, while Rajendranagar followed closely at 19.6 degrees Celsius. Both Ramachandrapuram and Patancheru recorded identical minimum temperatures of 19.8 degrees Celsius.
Other Hyderabad localities including Alwal (20.2°C), Chandrayangutta (20.6°C), and Quthbullapur (20.9°C) have also witnessed distinctly cooler mornings. Meanwhile, maximum temperatures across most city areas are maintaining a comfortable range between 30 degrees Celsius and 32 degrees Celsius during daytime hours.
Weather Outlook: More Cooling Expected
Meteorological experts predict that temperatures will continue to decline further in the coming days as clear skies and dry winds establish their presence across Telangana. This weather pattern typically characterizes the post-monsoon period and signals the gradual transition toward winter conditions.
The consistent drop in mercury levels provides clear evidence that the southwest monsoon has completely withdrawn from the region, making way for the characteristic winter chill that Telangana residents experience during this time of year.
