Lucknow: As the impact of the western disturbance weakened, day temperatures are set to rise across Uttar Pradesh over the next few days, while increasing humidity is likely to make conditions uncomfortable for residents. Though the mercury remained below normal on Sunday, the India Meteorological Department has forecast warmer and more humid weather ahead, with temperatures likely to rise by 3-5 degrees Celsius.
Current Temperature Readings
Lucknow recorded a maximum temperature of 38 degrees Celsius, which is 1.3 degrees below normal, while the minimum settled at 26.6 degrees Celsius, 0.4 degrees below normal. Relative humidity ranged between 38% and 89%, reflecting high moisture content in the atmosphere.
Forecast for Lucknow and Surroundings
According to the Regional Meteorological Centre, Lucknow and adjoining areas are likely to witness mainly clear skies on Monday, with maximum and minimum temperatures expected to be around 39 degrees Celsius and 27 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Meteorologist's Insights
Senior scientist at RMC, Lucknow, Mohammad Danish, said, “Western disturbance has moved away, but it has left behind sufficient moisture in the atmosphere. Moisture-laden easterly winds from the Bay of Bengal, coupled with rising temperatures, are likely to increase humidity levels over the next few days. As a result, the weather may feel hotter than the actual temperature. People should remain hydrated and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun, especially during peak afternoon hours.”
Hottest Places in the State
Across the state, Banda emerged as the hottest place at 42.4 degrees Celsius, followed by Prayagraj and Orai at 41.4 degrees Celsius each. Jhansi recorded 40.9 degrees Celsius, while Varanasi touched 40 degrees Celsius. Most districts reported dry weather, with no rainfall recorded during the past 24 hours.
Possibility of Thunderstorms
Meteorologists said moisture incursion and atmospheric instability could trigger isolated thunderstorms over the next 24 hours. Rain and thundershowers are likely at isolated places across the state, with gusty winds accompanying thunderstorm activity in parts of eastern and western Uttar Pradesh.
