50 Women Escape Fire by Jumping from PG in Bengaluru

A major tragedy was narrowly averted in Bengaluru's Nandini Layout when around 50 young women escaped a raging fire by jumping from their paying guest (PG) accommodation building to safety.

Fire Incident Details

The fire broke out in the Blue Leaf Signages godown in Annamma Circle, opposite Kanteerava Studio, around 12:20 am on Sunday midnight. LED boards and materials stored in the godown were gutted in the fire. The flames quickly spread to adjacent buildings, including a four-storey building that housed a ladies' PG accommodation, where nearly 50 women were staying.

Escape and Injuries

Within minutes, smoke engulfed the entire PG accommodation. With no time to wait and the exit blocked, the women climbed over the compound wall and jumped from the building to escape the flames. Fortunately, all of them survived, with only minor injuries reported due to the jump.
